From Nothing Special to Northwest Hills Best

Completed 2014. Making Modern Home was the project designer for this Northwest Hills home.

Working with the investors and contractor, we made some bold choices (such as the Spanish tile floor in the master, floating tub, striking exterior color scheme) and added some novel features (like the 16' glass sliding door that cost only $700! and the kitchen floor plan updates) to make this home stand out from the competition. When recently sold, this home went for $30,000 over the asking price. The investors think the design fee was well worth the investment, and we are currently completing several more projects together as a result.  This was a classic case of the sum equalling more than the part; partly because the materials, finishes, and fixtures were all frugal choices. When combined correctly, simple finishes can really come together to create a show-stopping design. Staging by others.
